Tea Palace Da Hong Pao (or Big Red Robe) Oolong is one of the oldest and most famous Oolongs produced in China.

Hailing from the Wuyi Mountains, this tea is said to have received its name when a Ming Dynasty Emperor used expensive red cloth to wrap four tea bushes in honour after their leaves were used to cure his unwell mother from a long illness. Indeed; four ancient bushes can still be found on a cliff in the Wuyi Mountains today and Da Hong Pao leaves are said to originate from these four plants. Today, Da Hong Pao Oolong is still limited in supply, earning it the distinction of being one of the most expensive teas in the world.

This delicious cup is made from pure organic leaves that have been rolled and lightly roasted to produce a smoky, nutty aroma and mid-brown liquor. On tasting a complex profile is revealed with distinct nutty tones complemented by cocoa notes and the lightest of peach finishes for a smooth and moreish cup.
